Health Center
A fully equipped health center was recently completed to ensure the health and safety of students and employees. With an experiences nurse on duty throughout the day, the health center is also a resource to communicate latest health concerns and advice.
By taking the proactive approach, the school nurse actively informs the school community on relevant medical news and ensures that the health center is equipped and ready to deal with current health scares. Parents are encouraged to look through the educational resources that are available in the center
An isolation unit has been built within the center with its own bathroom, bed and separate entrance to avoid spreading communicable diseases to the rest of the school.
The school's health model provides the following comprehensive preventive and primary health care services for students and staff:
- Diagnosis and treatment of a range of health conditions in accordance with treatment protocols established and delivered by an interdisciplinary team made up of physicians, nurses, counselors, lab and medical assistants among other health care professionals.
- Assisting families in visiting appropriate health care providers.
- Health education designed to promote positive health behavior and prevent intentional and unintentional injuries, teenage stress management, smoking, and alcohol abuse.
- First Aid and emergency treatment. Teachers and staff are trained to meet the needs in their classrooms.
- Medical monitoring to follow up on vaccination records and other health alerts
- Regular health screenings for vision, hearing, height, weight, blood pressure, and yearly physical check up for the staff.
